Weekly works out cheaper per session, but it is not always the right choice. The appropriate frequency depends on each person's goals and tolerance, and two well-used sessions a month often achieve more than four rushed ones.

What the price includes

  • The month's sessions for the option you have chosen, each lasting about 45 minutes.
  • A registered psychologist or neuropsychologist leading every session.
  • An equine therapy technician handling the horse and safety.
  • The horse and the use of the facilities at Hípica El Molino.
  • The adapted equipment and the helmet.
  • The individual goal plan and follow-up with the family.

What we do not charge for

  • Registration fee: none.
  • Joining fee: none.
  • Minimum commitment: none. If therapy stops making sense, you stop.
  • The first assessment: free, even if you decide not to continue.

Payment is monthly, for that month's sessions. We issue an invoice to whoever needs one, which matters if you are claiming any kind of allowance or tax relief.

Public funding

PSICAB is an approved centre for the Cheque Servicio (PEVS), a Madrid regional allowance within the dependency care system, which can cover part or all of the cost for people with recognised dependency and no public place available. The full explanation, in Spanish, is on the Cheque Servicio page.

If cost is the problem, say so. We would rather talk about it than have a family stay away without asking. At the assessment we can look together at what help you might be entitled to and what frequency is realistic for your situation.

Equine therapy or adapted riding?

You do not have to decide in advance. The right option is chosen at the free assessment: we look at the case, talk about what you are hoping for, and propose the one that fits.

Broadly, equine-assisted therapy works towards therapeutic goals —cognitive, emotional, motor or social— and is led by a registered psychologist. Adapted riding is about learning and enjoying the sport. They are not mutually exclusive: you can start with one and move to the other when it makes sense. The difference is explained in full on hippotherapy and equine therapy.

How to start, before paying anything

The order we suggest is this one, and not the other way round:

  1. You call or write and tell us roughly what the situation is.
  2. You come to the free assessment. You see the place, the horses and the team.
  3. We propose goals and a frequency, and at that point you know the exact price.
  4. You decide. No rush, no commitment.

Sessions are available in English. Just tell us when you get in touch and we will arrange it.
